Treble Crochet:
Yarn over from back to front twice (you will have three loops on your chain) and then insert your hook into the next stitch or indicated stitch, yarn over and pull up a loop (your will have four loops on your hook), yarn over and draw through two loops, yarn over and draw through two loops again, yarn over and draw through last two loops.
If you are starting from the beginning chain row, you will insert your hook in the fifth chain from the hook. The first four chains acts as your first treble crochet in that row. Continue treble crochet stitches across to the end of the chain row, chain four and turn (the first four chains acts as the first treble crochet in that row). You will not insert your hook into the first hook since it is directly under the chain four stitches you just made, you will insert your hook into the next treble crochet and continue the treble crochet to the end of the row. The last treble crochet will be in the top chain of chain four in the previous row.

There is something about taking a ball of yarn and creating something unique and special out of it. Crochet is an art form that has been passed down from generation to generation over a very long period of time.
I know that when I work on a crochet project, I really put my heart into it. I want to make sure that every stitch is done correctly and that I haven't missed a stitch. I am always so excited to see my finished treasure. It is amazing how a few basic stitches can be combined in so many different ways to create so many different patterns.
For me, crocheting is a time for me to relax. I have enjoyed creating my own patterns as well. Experimenting with different combinations is interesting and I plan to publish them sometime. Patterns may soon be available at our online store.

Half Double Crochet Stitch:
Yarn Over from back to front and insert hook into the designated stitch, yarn over and draw up a loop (you should now have three loops on your hook), yarn over and draw through all three loops on your hook. Repeat for the next stitch or follow as the pattern indicates.
If you are starting from the beginning chain row, you will yarn over and insert your hook in the third chain from the hook. The first two chains acts as your first half double crochet on that row. Continue as instructed above all the way across to the end of the chain. Chain twice (counts as first half double crochet), turn, yarn over and insert hook into next half double crochet (do not insert into the first hole because that stitch is directly below your chain two stitches). Continue across to the last hdc (which is the chain two from the previous row). Hdc in the top chain of the chain two section. Continue number of rows needed for your pattern.
